Taking care of your teeth doesn’t have to be a difficult task. However, during various periods of the year, you may need to exercise additional caution to keep your smile safe. Halloween is one of those periods due to the influx of candy. Not only should you continue to brush and floss your teeth every day, but exercise caution with snacks you consume.

During the season of sweets, it is often the case that individuals eat excessive amounts of sugary sweets. As an alternative, avoid eating sweets and instead, opt for healthy treats that will benefit both your body and your smile. If you do decide to enjoy your sweets this holiday season, take out the candies and snacks that are most hazardous to your health.

Be aware of treats that can chip or crack your teeth, including candy apples or popcorn balls. In addition, avoid consuming any form of sugar, as it increases your risk for tooth decay. Don’t forget to clean your mouth out after eating to remove debris. For further oral health care treatments, visit our office for regular check-ups and professional cleanings.
